A moment of calm and many changes
11 Feb 2026 After the hectic months of November and December... January brought a brief period of calm. As a family, we were also able to get away for a short break between Christmas and New Year's Eve. What a blessing! We enjoyed some peaceful time together in a beautiful spot that even had a swimming pool!

But there have also been many changes in recent months.... Around the summer, a Wycliffe missionary, Christina, settled in Atakpamé... She is American and has started working with a team of local Christians on an oral Bible translation (in principle, there will only be an audio Bible) in a language spoken in the vicinity of Atakpamé. We have become good friends and she visits us regularly. Recently, we have also started meeting weekly for Ewe lessons. I am grateful that I have picked up where I left off with learning Ewe!
Atakpamé has also been changing rapidly lately! In 2024, the government decided to build Togo's third university just south of Atakpamé. This is a huge project, and we can now see the first buildings appearing on the horizon as we drive into Atakpamé. As a result, there is an explosion of construction and development going on! Many private educational institutions suddenly want to open a location in the city, and our neighbours' large house has also been rented out to an educational institute. We are very grateful for these developments because we hope that this will lead to many orders for our print shop in the future!
